I guess the biggest news is that I will once again be attending the Open Source System Management Conference 2013 in Bolzano Italy. So if your near Italy please come by (it is free) and feel free to bump in to me if you have any thoughts, ideas or questions.
You can find more information here http://www.wuerth-phoenix.com/de/loesungen/system-management/nagios-event/die-ausgabe-2013/. And please note that even though the page is in German the conference it self is translated into German, Italian and English meaning it is open to most people in the region.
Also I am now officially back from my vacation and have hopefully responded to most questions from when I was gone if I have accidentally missed your question please don't hesitate to bump it to the top and I shall answer ASAP!
I will hopefully in the next few weeks have some news on the up-coming 0.4.2 version which will be the net major version of NSClient++.
I will (contrary to popular rumors) actually be attending and presenting this year again. And I posted a while back on my blog asking for ideas on what to speak about you can find it here http://blog.medin.name/2012/06/14/what-would-you-like-to-hear-about/.
Then a thought struck me, is there anyone interested in a tutorial session about using NSClient++ 0.4.x in workshop format? Ie. me showing how to do stuff starting from scratch and telling you how/when/what/why and so on and so forth (with you guys listening in).
If you are interested feel free to let me (and/or netways) know and I shall talk to the netways people and see if something can be arranged. Since I guess this would fall outside of the normal schedule I guess it could be either day or evening after/before or some such... just an idea really so nothing concrete at all at this time... so feel free to let me know what you think (even if you think it is a terrible idea)...
I will (again) this year be presenting at the Open Source Monitoring Conference (OSMC) hosted by Netways.
This time I will be presenting whats new with NSClient++ covering:
- 0.3.8 (with a focus on how to use the new eventlog checking)
- 0.3.9 (Whats will come in the next (and last) 0.3.x version)
- 0.4.0 (What are the major highlights of the up-coming new version)
I will also be giving a workshop on how to monitor SQL Server using the actual SQL Server monitoring tools as a base (and how to exploit them from Nagios or what not).
Apart from me the conference has two full tracks one in German and one (almost) in English (this year they seem to be missing a few sessions). The full program was presented earlier this week and is available at http://www.netways.de/en/osmc/y2010/programm/
