It was the 64 bits. After 5 minutes I get the erro i in Event Viewer "The MS DTC service stopping" after that the SQLServerAgent service successfully stopped.

So the whole SQL server 2005 stopped after installing the NSClient+++

I search the net and found another person that had expericend the exact same thing. Now I do not dare to install the agent again.

It was just to start the SQL server again, but anyway.

We have more servers with SQL server 2005 and I wounder if this is a known issue and if there is more known issued.

Regards Anneli
Topic vikjon0 Sat, 17 Apr 2010 12:23:59 GMT Reply #1739 to topic #561 - SQL server went down after installing NSClient http://nsclient.org/nscp/discussion/message/1739#message1739 http://nsclient.org/nscp/discussion/message/1739#message1739
I have not yet installed it on 64bit but it has never happenened with 32. You might want to schedule a service window when you install sw to a live server anyway so it does not sound like an issue.
Message mickem Thu, 15 Apr 2010 08:02:44 GMT Reply #1726 to topic #561 - SQL server went down after installing NSClient http://nsclient.org/nscp/discussion/message/1726#message1726 http://nsclient.org/nscp/discussion/message/1726#message1726
Nothing I have ever heard of before.

All in all it sounds doubtful what does the debug log of NSClient++ tell you?

 Michael Medin
Message
