NSClient++ Help (#1) - NSCA disk space check (#711) - Message List
Hey all!
Im newly registered here and im hoping i can get som good ideas from here :)
Anyway, ive just got NSCA to work with passive checks to my nagios server. I can see cpu and memory outtakes fine, but i cant see the free disk space. I may have configured something wrong but i cant figure out what. And therefore im asking the experts, you!
If you need more info, i can happily give it to you. Worth pointing out is that i have got our internal computers to be monitored no rpoblem at all with the hard-drives there, so im kinda confused how to get it to work with passive checks.
this is from the host.cfg, remember i only want PASSIVE checks, not active (the stuff is behind firewalls):
define service{
use generic-service
host_name ILCO
service_description C:\ Drive Space
check_command check_nt!USEDDISKSPACE!-l c -w 80 -c 90
}
This is from the nsc.ini, ive blank out the passwords though, sorry! ;)

However im guessing this is the problem, but how do i write the correct service for it?(this is snatched from /var/log/syslog) :

Message #2002
the command must have the same name like your definition!
the easisest way is to change the servicename in your hostconfig and nsc.ini
in host config set service_description to 'Drive space all' and in NSC.ini change 'Drive space=alias_disk' to 'Drive space all=alias_disk'
i hope this is working for you ;)
PS: to check every single drive you have to make single services!

New question...
If i want to monitor specific services on the remote server, how should i write the command then? at the moment im using the default one, so im bascily monitoring every service, and that feels abit much :)
This is fron NSC.ini
Service check=alias_service
...
alias_service=checkServiceState CheckAll
and from the hostfile (which im thinking that could be the error) :
define service{ use generic-service host_name SERVER1 service_description Service check check_command check_nt!PROCSTATE!-d SHOWALL -l }smashytech12/09/10 15:59:34 (2 years ago)-
Message #2005
You can use exclude and include and also specify explicit services to check.
Check the [CheckServiceState] page for details.
