Hi Forum.
This error is eating my brains out :( Can someone please help. I am using NSClient++ v0.3.5.2 on a Windows 2003 Server x86. My Nagios is running on a debian machine.
When I issue the following from the command line on my nagios
$hostname$ is replaced by the server dns name when i type it in
./check_nrpe -H $hostname$ -c CheckEventLog -a file=System MaxWarn=1 MaxCrit=1 "filter=generated gt -2d AND severity='warning'" truncate=1300 unique descriptions "syntax=%severity%: %source%: %message% (%count%)"
I get the following error Unknown argument: filter
Please help

Which version do you have? This requires 0.3.9

I have this error with 0.3.8. on windows cmd too..
i dont use arguments so i dont know if this will happen with the nrpe command here too...
for testing I always write an alias in nsc.ini and restart the "nsclient /test" after editing...
quick and dirty but it works for testing...

Could you show the debug log from nsclient++ /test?

Sorry to have kept you waiting...
and i was wrong... the problem only happens when i use the systemtray Run Command function... directly on cmd it works without problems!
In the Run Command window i select CheckEventlog? and put the following as arguments: file=Application MaxCrit=1 "filter=generated gt -1h AND type eq 1 AND id NOT IN (13032) AND source NOT IN ('MsGina?')" truncate=7168 unique descriptions "syntax=(%count%x) %type% ! [%source%]: %message% (ID: %id%, Time: %generated%, Severity: %severity%) #####"
and here is the debug: d NSClient++.cpp(1106) Injecting: CheckEventLog: file=Application, MaxCrit=1, "filter=generated, gt, -1h, AND, type, eq, 1, AND, id, NOT, IN, (13032), AND, source, NOT, IN, ('MsGina?')", truncate=7168, unique, descriptions, "syntax=(%count%x), %type%, !, [%source%]:, %message%, (ID:, %id% Time:, %generated% Severity:, %severity%), #####" d NSClient++.cpp(1142) Injected Result: WARNING 'Unknown argument: "filter' d NSClient++.cpp(1143) Injected Performance Result:
but this is not a problem for me... ;)
