NSClient++ Help (#1) - Alias - nsclient.ini - sources (#1011) - Message List
Hello
I am using NSClient++ and works great. The system is nagios, nagiosql, nrpe, nsclient++.
- I am using nagiosql for configuration. Now to simplify nsclient++ allows to define aliases.
Does this to be done on nrpe / handlers or external scripts/alias
- There are different packages (32/64, msi, zip). The size is different. For example there are more modules in zip than in msi. Has this a reason.
- Is it possible to collect from users nsclient.ini examples. This would give a hint, how to configure it better.
Regards
H.

- Not sure In understand.
NagiosQL configuration is I guess out of my scope but you can define aliases inside NSClient++ (and also in nagios config via NagiosQL if you prefer).
- 64 bit is larger due to byte size, the zips are also larger due to the content.
SO some modules are not avalible in the msi (for instance the NSCP protocol which is highly experimental)
- Humm... not really...
You can generate a full configuration file with default options (and comments). Sample configuration is planned and will hopefully come with 0.4.2 (0.4.1. is a minor update). BUt I intend to in the next few weeks update the wiki to reflect 0.4.0 configuration and usages so hopefully that can be a good start. Currently the goal with 0.4.0 was to create a stable replacement for 0.3.9 so all the "new stuff" in 0.4.0 is more of a "bonus" currently as I wanted to make a sure there is a smooth transition...
