NSClient++ Help (#1) - 0.3.5.2 Passive check (NSCA) won't work (#256) - Message List
Hi, my first time trying NSCP so pls excuse me if I've missed the obvious or haven't done my home work.
Installed the client on XP for initial testing. Have tried to setup NSC.ini for purly passive check/NSCA (see below) When using the /test option and injecting CheckOK nothing happens. The NSCP logfile registres that I have injected the command. But theres nothing in my nagios logfiles. Have even setup a packet sniffer on the test XP and there are no traffic to/from port 5667. (Firewall on test system has been disabled) Telnet from the same XP test system to port 5667 on my nagios host works fine (= get connected and "stuff" received).
Can anyone help me with pointers to were I should look?

Since my last post I realise that I diden't endble "NSCAAgent.dll". After enabling the NSCA module I can see that it's tryinh to connect. I don't get a reply from the Nagios server, but I won't blame my NSCP config ;-).
How much Beta is the NSCAAgent part of NSCP?
I've pasted my config here anyway.

Injecting will not send anything to NSCA...
NSCA will (periodically) poll things and report, so running:
NSClient++ /test
For a period of time should give you insight intoi why it does not work, set polling intervall to 5 seconds or some such and it should work I think...
