NSClient++ Help (#1) - check http servers (#4) - Message List
Hi, is there any plans to build a check http module? Something like check_http in the nagios-plugins package.

Humm, it would a bit of work to port all plugins to "windows" but I can see the point especially if I rewrite the sockets to be more performant, but nothing I would expect for 0.4.0 (maybe 0.5.0?).
In the mean time I guess there are several options for you: 1, install perl(?) (sygwin?) and runt he native check command as an external command. 2, port the check to run on windows. 3, quickly write an external command or Lua script for it.
Also feel free to request this as a feature so I wont forget it :)

I'd very much like the same feature. With network structures getting more and more complex it would be of great value if I could monitor that one specific machine can reach certain sites (ie the http-interface of firewalls on different ends of critical tunnels).

I want to check a http service from windows. I know that I can check it through nagios server (linux) but I want to group the http check with the rest of the windows services (like mem, cpu)...

Daniel,
Are you trying to check an http server from the Windows machine or an http service on the Windows machine? Why not just use check_http from nagios?
