how to check a logfile for a keyword
I need to check a text logfile on a Windows 2008 box for some keyword, ie "Error".
I could install cygwin and write an external script using grep etc.
I could write a batch file and try to do it with "find" etc. ugh.
Is there a better way, or something already written?
Will regular Nagios plugins (ie from Nagios Exchange) work as external scripts?
Thanks...Lyle

IIRC there is some checklog stuff (in vb). I have plans to add content filtering to CheckFiles (but not in the near time).
But you can create scripts quite easily on windows in various languages so seem straight forward enough.
