Description
We experience a crash in the client every few days or so. Oddly, it seems to occur on only one of 26 servers. We have reinstalled the service, but still seems to occur. The module is CheckSystem.dll, fault address 0x00025fb0. Client build is 7/28/2008. We were having many more crashes.....offset 0x00025aa0....but the 7/28/2008 build seems to have fixed, as forum entries suggest.

Error occurs when trying to execute one of the following:define service{
use generic-service
host_name MSIAUX27
service_description Todds Vibration Interface [Bethesda]
check_command check_nt!PROCSTATE!-d SHOWALL -l cmdLine "E:
VBT
Bethesda
VBT2000.exe"
}
define service{
use generic-service
host_name MSIAUX27
service_description Todds Vibration Interface [RML]
check_command check_nt!PROCSTATE!-d SHOWALL -l cmdLine "E:
VBT
Bethesda
VBT2000.exe RML"
}
Something to do with cmdLine it appears.
Event log and bottom of nsc log is attached.

I am having this issue as well on several of our servers for some time now with every version I've used up to 0.3.3.5 RC 2008-06-14...
The error doesn't seem to be picky about Windows version, be it NT4, 2000, XP, or Server 2003.

Any idea on this issue? Is my syntax in the check_command below wrong? Workaround?
check_command check_nt!PROCSTATE!-d SHOWALL -l
cmdLine "E:
VBT
Bethesda
VBT2000.exe"

Sorry,
This issue have been posted multiple times and I have not updated themall.
The problem has been resolved in the "nightly builds". I would try the new NSClient++-Win32-20080904-1900.zip (which fixes some other issues added in recent nightlies).
There will be a RC for a new "release" in the next few days so feed back on the "new" version would be nice so I can iron out any other bugs.
If you experience any problem with the nightly (or dont want to use a "nightly build" a somewhat safer method is to just grab the "CheckSystem.dll" from the nightly and use the "old" version for the rest.
But I would welcome feedback on the latest nightly so I can fix any potential bugs.
