Intermittently Connection Refused on Windows Server 2008 SP2 x64

Hi.

In a Windows Server 2008STD SP2 x64, intermittently (every 15-20 minutes aprox.) occurs a Connection Refused error in any check_nt service.

In log appears "e \NSClientListener.cpp(275) Read on socket failed: recv returned SOCKET_ERROR:10054: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."

At Nagios, in command line, I made a little script that do a check in a service every 2 seconds with no error during 24 hours.

while true; do date >> /tmp/service.txt; ./check_nt -H <server> -v UPTIME -w 80 -c 90 -p 12489 >> /tmp/service.txt; sleep 2; done

In 20 others servers (Win2k3 x32) the problem not occurs.

I configure timeout to 60 seconds in NSC.INI and check_nt.

nsclient++ version: NSClient++ 0.3.8.76 2010-05-27 x64
check_nt version: check_nt v1.4.14 (nagios-plugins 1.4.14)

Has been rewritten for 0.4.0 so hopefully fixed...

The problem continues... as seen in Alert History:

Windows server 2008 64bits using nsclient++ version 4.0.169 (x64 and win32). There is no firewall on server. This time, in commandline, I have a connection refused too. I think this problem seens multiple connection problem.

Well, those are another issue :)

And you are sure it is not network related?
Presumably you should get something in the logs when it failes.
Might wanna try enabling debug log perhaps?

My Network is fully of other servers with various OS (Win 2003, Win2008) 32bits. This is the first x64 server (2008) with nsclient++

I will in the next few weeks create a check_nt client and then I will add some unit tests to check_nt subsystem also a new build of 0.4.1 will be out in a few days or so which will feature a new improved server subsystem but nothing concrete yet...
